Happy Monday people! I was asked to participate in the #ScentGoals campaign sponsored by Herbal Essences to try out each unique scent from their body wash collection. Today I’m sharing my scent of choice, some tips for a more productive morning, and a few other aromas I get my day started with.
All opinions are my own.

According to a survey by Herbal Essences, the shower can have a more positive impact on the rest of you day than you might think. In fact, nine out of 10 American women agree that taking time to enjoy their morning shower transforms the rest of their day AND that it is one of the few times during the day where they get to truly “escape.” – See more at: http://news.pg.com/press-release/pg-corporate-announcements/stop-sleepwalking-through-your-morning-routine-new-herbal-e#sthash.B1J4CRE3.dpuf

I’ve always been a morning shower person – as opposed to a night shower gal – because #1, my hair looks way better if I shower and blow dry it, #2 I feel refreshed and prepared , and #3 I’m always freezing so a hot shower is a nice way to warm up. I use the time before I go to bed at night to prepare my outfit, finish up a little bit of work (my favorite office – the bed desk, haha), and pack my lunch if I’m going to be out and about the next day.

I’ve always been a morning shower person because #1, my hair looks crazy if I sleep on it wet,  #2 I feel way more refreshed, and #3 I’m always freezing – so a hot shower is a nice way to warm up. In Herbal Essences recent ‘Shower Power Survey’, they found that 9 out of 10 American women agree that taking time to enjoy their morning shower transforms the rest of their day and that it is one of the few times during the day where they can truly “escape.” They also discovered that 65% of women think skipping a shower would have a worse impact on their day than skipping breakfast. According to the survey, studies show that after an enjoyable shower experience 69% of women feel relaxed, 56% feel prepared for the day, 52% feel happy and 50% feel attractive.

I’ve been testing out the different body washes depending on my mood that day, but my scent of choice is ‘happy-go-lather‘. The floral fragrance is incredible, and when given the choice, I’ll always choose the pink option 🙂 This body wash is also great for shaving – I always prefer to use a soap that lathers really well and has the right amount of moisture as opposed to shaving cream.
The way I start my morning out has a lot to do with how the rest of that day goes. I hate feeling rushed, so I like to wake up early and take things slow so I can focus on everything I need to get done that day. When getting ready in the morning, I turn on my go-to spotify playlist, light my favorite candle, and take my time putting on my makeup, doing my hair, and going through e-mails.

There’s nothing better than the smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning (I may or may not have a mini Keurig in my bathroom). My breakfast usually consists of black coffee, oatmeal & fruit, and lately I’ve been eating greek yogurt with granola – quick and easy!

The final step in my getting ready process is finishing up with a light spritz of my favorite perfume. I think every woman should have her own ‘signature scent’.  I love the way my perfume lingers on my clothes all throughout the day.

It’s a pretty simple routine, but taking the time to relax, primp, and prepare for my day makes a huge difference in my productivity level. What makes you more of a morning person??

Thank you very much for sharing this post! I have been telling myself for a while now that if i just get up a little bit earlier, giving myself some time to relax and not feel rushed before heading to work, that it would help my daily stress level tremendously. After reading this post I have decided to stop talking about it and start my day tomorrow by making the change! Thank you for sharing posts like this, it really gives that extra inspiration to move towards a better daily routine 🙂 Wish me luck!
