In DECOR, DECOR & STYLING

One of my favorite things about our new house in Bucktown is the back porch. It was the first area we wanted to get put together in our place because it’s where we’ve been spending the most time relaxing and enjoying this beautiful summer weather!

I had an awesome opportunity to partner with Kohl’s in putting together an affordable outdoor space. Since we’ve been spending so much time out there I wanted to give it a little personal touch to make it feel more home-y! It only took a few simple additions to transform the porch into the perfect spot for little backyard parties and get togethers.

Wearing: Lauren Conrad Faux-Suede Collar Tank on sale (wearing XS, runs a little big) I love it in this pattern too! // LC Blush Faux Suede Shorts – on sale (wearing xsmall, these run big) // Very similar Wedges // Rose Gold Watch

I chose this pretty black & beige Medallion Floral rug by Safavieh to be the focal point of the space. I used to sell Safavieh rugs when I worked as a design stylist in Salt Lake City, so I knew I was getting a great quality brand when I ordered it! It completely sets the scene for a beautiful back porch set up.

The globe string tea lights are totally what make the back porch. They’re easy to hang and add ambiance to the setting. AND they’re on sale right now. I hung a set of ferns to add some plant life to the porch – the girls keep calling them our love ferns, Haha. (The champagne sign is from Home Goods but here’s a similar one on Etsy!).

A couple Pellegrino bottles in ice, cute coasters (love these + these from Anthropologie), and a fresh bouquet is all you need to dress the table up a bit. Tip: Costco and Trader Joe’s always have the best flowers!

With just a few simple touches the porch came together in no time! Kohl’s has a whole section for back porch decor on their website – check it out here. Hope you’re all having a great Sunday! We’re just getting home from the Windy City Smokeout today – delish BBQ and country music. I saw Jessie James Decker perform the other day and it was so cool! xoxo thanks for reading guys
