Black Check Blanket Cape || Rebecca Minkoff Booties sold out, almost exact dupe here  || Chloe Drew Crossbody Bag || Black Highwaisted Jeans || Ribbed Turtleneck Top (xs)|| Sunglasses

So this is the Chicago winter everyone’s been warning me about.. ice cold rain and 30 mph winds while running around downtown today. Literally though, running. It’s SO cold.

My whole closet seems to be black and grey right now, so this black checkered Chicwish cape fits right in. It’s cozy and easy to layer over anything to add a little more [much needed] warmth. Under it I’m wearing a simple ribbed turtleneck (comes in 3 colors) that’s perfecting for tucking into high-waisted jeans. I’ve mentioned these Rebecca Minkoff booties a couple times now – they’re all I’ve been wearing lately, so comfortable and you can pair them with anything. They sold out a while ago but I found almost an exact dupe – linked above.

After a long vacation it’s kind of nice to get back to work and face real-life with a clear head. Sometimes you just need a little break from it all to get back on track and in the right mindset. Don’t get me wrong, vacation and not working is wonderful (I could’ve stayed another week), but it does remind you how important it is to balance your life out something that keeps you motivated!

I would normally say I’m sad to already be leaving Chicago again this week, but to be honest I’ll do anything I can right now to avoid these temps. I’m heading out to NYC for a long weekend for a little work [and play] and even if it’s only a 15 degree difference, I’ll take it! I’m trying to get better with navigating New York City so I can write up a post about my favorite things to do there on my blog. Happy Tuesday guys, stay warm!! xo
