Back in Chicago after a long, wonderful weekend down in Kentucky! First of all… I can’t even begin to tell you guys how thankful I am for each one of you who came out to my meet and greet at Draper James in Lexington. I was a kind of nervous to do an official meet and greet because I’ve never done one before and didn’t know how it would turn out, but I’m so glad I decided to do my first one down in Lex where this whole influencing/blogging thing started.

Choosing to move down to Kentucky to attend the University of Kentucky at age 18 has easily been one of the best decisions of my life for so many reasons.

#1 – I met my best friend in the world the first day of UK cheerleading tryouts, miss Lindsey Marie Goderwis. That alone would’ve been been enough if it was the only thing I got out of my move to KY. #2 – She introduced me to my boyfriend who is a Kentucky boy himself and who’s parents live 2 streets down from Linds (convenient, right?). #3 The opportunity to cheer for the best cheerleading program in the nation, which tremendously helped me grow an audience and build my platform so I had the ability to start influencing young women around the country (especially my petite cheer girls!).

I was blown away with how many now college students at the meet and greet told me they’ve been following along ever since my UK cheer days starting back in 2009 when they were in middle school! What! I could never thank you all enough for the initial support you all gave me when I was first starting out with blogging. You gave me the confidence to believe I had a platform worth pursuing and that I could use it to influence people with my writing and style. So needless to say, Kentucky holds a very special place in my heart and I’m forever thankful my path lead me down south.

I’ve always been a Reese Witherspoon fan, so having the opportunity to partner with her & the Draper James collection for the meet and greet was such an honor! I love everything she’s about. A classy, hard working, smart business woman, who is such a great role model for young women.

This skirt is sold out in most sizes, but in the second widget I linked other skirts that would look so cute styled with fall boots or booties. These booties sold out for a while but I found this close to identical pair for only $49!

You are such an inspiration to petite women! I love how you can pull off what otherwise I’d think was a taboo to wear (i.e. maxi dresses and mid-calf boots). I’m so excited to try these out. Thank you for the inspo and gorgeous photos!

Thank you Megan! It’s definitely a challenge to wear all the new trends, but if you find the right items in the correct sizing options it can definitely be done! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
