In DECOR, FASHION

Even though I’m in denial about it, summer is officially coming to an end. And considering Chicago winter is about to hit us like a brick,  I wanted to put together one last girl’s night on our back porch – one of my favorite spots in our apartment. Last week I put together an elegant tablescape with my friends at Mud Pie for a rosé and cheese girls night that’s so easy to replicate!

Thanks to years of learning from Nani’s (my grandma) hosting advice, I like to think she taught me a thing or two about how to throw a party. She always said, the food presentation should look just as good as it tastes. From those of you who saw her extravagant parties on my snapchat from Bachelor nights, you know what I’m talking about, haha.

  • Rosé makes any get together a little more fancy. This bottle alone dresses the whole display up (Cote de Roses by Gerard Bertrand)! This footed beverage tub is a step up from a cooler and kept the alcohol cool and sittin’ pretty! A cute quote or handwritten menu on a decorative chalkboard is a cute personal touch.

  • Put together a few trays of easy-to-eat finger foods that pair well with rosé. Everyone loves fruits & veggies, plus they add a pop of color to the table. I placed a few of my favorite cheeses on top of kale leaves (Nani tip!) and provided a couple different cracker options. These silver scalloped trays (here + here) were perfect for the fruit and vegetables. I used a mix of silver accents, marble cheese boards, and intricate glassware for a classy look.

Flowers bring the table to life and play up on the ‘end-of-summer’ theme while adding more color. To add dimension to the table display, use a couple elevated platters (grapes look great on these!) and tall pitchers as vases – these hydrangea print vases worked perfectly. These intricate silver wine coasters add the cutest feminine touch!

Offering a sweet snack and having coffee available is always a guest favorite – how cute is this cream & sugar set? I love how more and more people are doing this at weddings lately! Now all you’ll need is a good playlist with portable speakers (I have this one), and you’ll be ready to party!
