I know I’m a little late to the party with the whole ‘juice cleanse’ thing, but with so many people raving about them I decided to try it out for myself! I did a 3 day juice cleanse with Mend Juicery, and today I’m sharing the pros [and cons] AND giving away a 3 day cleanse (18 juices delivered to your door) to one of my Utah readers! (See my Instagram for details)

Let me start out by saying I’m pretty surprised I’m not single right now because of how moody and hangry I was from not eating solid food for 3 days. I didn’t try the cleanse to lose weight, more so to just ‘reset’ my system and gain a little bit of motivation for a healthier summer body. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t the easiest 3 days of my life, but it was worth it. And here’s why:

-I was so hydrated: In between each 16 ounce juice you are supposed to drink 16 ounces of water. There are 6 juices a day which means 6 full bottles of water! A hydrated bod = a healthy bod.
-Post cleanse glow: My skin was brighter and healthier looking after just 3 days thanks to the hydration and nutrient-packed drinks.
-You’ll probably lose weight or at least feel lighter. But you’ll be losing mostly water. A reduction in bloating is a well-known benefit of juicing.

-Spending a few days drinking only fruits and veggies means you’ll be avoiding all processed foods that hae solid fats and added sugar. If you’re guilty o making unhealthy food choices, a cleanse may motivate you to break the habit.

-Re-set your system: whether or not cleansing is a miracle worker or not, it does flush out your system and gives you a good starting point if you’re working towards a clean eating diet.

It’s freakin pricey: which is why I’m doing a giveaway! But if you’re like me and trying to save all the money you can, juice cleanses should be a special occasion.
-There’s little protein or fat in pressed juices: your body will suffer from going for more than a few days without sufficient protein. However, they do have options for juices that have up to 18 grams of protein.
-Working out is hard: some people don’t think this is true, but I felt weaker than usual and it was hard for me to get to the gym. I’m not gonna lie, I was STARVING at lunchtime on day 1.

Hey Liv! Have you done the juice cleanse since? I live in KY and picked up a juice cleanse from a store in Oakley right across the river. It was extremely hard for me, and I honestly wasn’t able to complete my three day cleanse. I do want to try it again in the future, maybe later in the summer. What tips do you recommend to help staying focused and loyal to the cleanse?
