Hi guys! I’m recapping our holiday trip to Cabo San Lucas tonight – sharing everything from my beachwear to our favorite dinner spots. This year was my family’s 10th time visiting Cabo, so it’s safe to say we know the area pretty well! If you’re thinking about planning a trip and want recommendations or just want to dream about warmer weather, here’s a bunch of pictures to distract you from winter for a few minutes:

Where We Stayed

We’ve stayed a few different places over the years, but for the last 5 years we’ve stayed at Grand Solmar. It’s new, the views are incredible, the staff is wonderful, the beach is private and the food & drinks are delish. The most amazing part of the resort is that it’s built into a mountain & is attached to rocks that form the Arch of Cabo San Lucas – you can’t get much closer than that! There are infiniti pools & hot tubs galore, the rooms are spacious and luxurious, the spa in gorgeous, and it has the most incredible fitness center I’ve ever seen. The location is perfect – a 10 minute walk (2 min cab ride) and you’re right in the middle of downtown Cabo. Beyond 5 star quality, we love this place!!

Other places we’ve stayed in the past…

Playa Grande

La Estancia

The Cape (Blake stayed here & we visited – loved it!)

Where to Eat:

After coming here for 10 years, we’ve had plenty of time to narrow down our favorites when it comes to dinner spots. It’s fun to hit the touristy spots (The Office, Mango Deck, Ponchos) but if you’re looking for great food + atmosphere + service, these are our top picks:

Maro’s Shrimp House: My favorite – it’s a must if you’re in Cabo! Steak, lobster & shrimp combos – inexpensive, local-vibe, and a great time. Don’t leave without ordering a ‘bulldog’

Los Tres Gallos: Quaint outdoor setting, delicious authentic Mexican food, and save room for dessert!

Salvatore’s Italian Restaurant: Italian food in Mexico? Yes. Do it.

Nick San: The best sushi in Cabo. Always packed – fun atmosphere.

La Golondrina Restaurant: Dine beneath hundreds of lights strung from the interlocking trees in an outdoor garden.. beautiful & delicious seafood + mexican.

Sunset Da Mona Lisa: pricey, but breath taking views and incredible food. Definitely a splurge meal – perfect for a romantic dinner date.

Aaaand a few other random pictures & snaps from our week in Mexico! Between whale watching from our balcony, shopping the street shops for authentic souvenirs, and napping on the beach, I’d say the week was a success. See ya next year Cabo…

Hi Glee! I couldn’t give you any exact shops – most of them don’t have names, but if you just wander downtown near Squid Roe and the main strip there are tons of adorable little shops full of authentic souvenirs to take home – you’ll love it!

Hi Kate! ORtravel is just a hashtag I use to track all the places I’ve traveled too – I don’t use an agent or anything so I can’t give you a good suggestion on that unfortunately! But if you’re planning a trip for anywhere I’ve blogged about I’d love to give you all the details πŸ™‚

I love love love that black bathing suit! We are taking a trip to the Bahamas in May and it would be perfect! I know you said it is from ASOS, I’ve read up on the company and it has some iffy reviews so have you had all good turn outs from ordering with them? I’m dying to order it!

I love the red suit and want to put it for spring break! How did you go about the top? Was it true to size?

Hi Caroline, yes for the most part this is pretty true to size! I always think Pacsun runs just a liiiiittle small, so if you’re really worried about it I’d say go one size up!

    Hey Olivia !

My parents are going to Cabo this March and they were wondering if it is safe for them to rent a car. Have you ever rent a car?
it is there first time in Cabo and they don’t know much about that place and the tourist security.

    Thanks !

Hey Sarah! So instead of renting a car, what our family does is hire a van service for the whole week because getting a taxi every night can get expensive. Since it’s only going to be the two of them, maybe it would be better to just rent a car? Cabo for the most part is veryyy safe and very tourist friendly, so I’m sure they will have great options for car rental. E-mail me if you want any more details πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
