Although I can’t stand cold weather and I’m still wondering why I have yet to migrate to a southern state, I don’t know if I could live in a place without the changing seasons. Fall has everything from the fiery trees, warm golden sunsets, and smell of burning leaves to the nights spent baking Pinterest recipes in those fleece pj pants you’d never be caught dead wearing in public (speaking of, Old Navy has the BEST comfy pants.. you’re welcome). I really don’t even like pumpkin spice lattes that much but wow does Starbucks do a great job of making you think you do this time of year. Scenic drives, carving & crafting, knitted sweaters, fuzzy socks, pumpkin dunkin donuts.. I could go on and on. (Notice how I didn’t mention fantasy football….I know some of you can relate).

I’ve seen autumn in Indiana and Kentucky, but October in Utah is somethin else. I’m still getting used to seeing mountains every time I step outside, let alone mountains dressed in golden cottonwoods and vibrant aspen & oak trees. Seeing that before work every day has really helped me become a little more of a morning person.. a little. The weather here is also a bonus – we’re well into October and the temperature still feels like summer!

Last night, Chris and I took his niece & nephews to a fall festival down the road called Corn Belly’s.  Beckham (age 4) said his favorite part of the night was throwing cornhole bags at people and running away from us in the corn maze. The night was full of fun fall festivities, kettle corn, and apple cider that year after year never seem to get old 🙂
