Over the last 8 years, I’ve lived in 5 different cities and transferred my belongings from boxes to storage units to apartments. I’m so thankful for all of those chapters, but there’s nothing I’m more excited for than the next one where I eventually move into a home with my soon to be husband!!
The Knot has made our registry process so fun and easy. I was able to add anything from the internet to our registry with the ‘add to the knot’ button – which is such a great feature. I loved reading through all of their most recent articles for tips and ideas for what to register for. We were also able to easily add our registry to our our wedding website with The Knot so guests could access it. I put this post together with everything we registered for to help you with yours!
…
3 Tips Before Your Register…
1. Register Early! We didn’t realize how early guests would start asking / checking our website to see what we had registered for. We found out a lot of people like to plan far in advance for gifts, so we got our registry up as soon as we could! It takes the guesswork out of gift buying for your guests. Don’t worry if you don’t complete it right away, you can always update it along the way.
2. Do It Together. Conner and I set up a night where we had dinner, wine, and made a list of everything we wanted to register for. It was so fun to do together and got us excited for the future 🙂 We found a lot of what we wanted online, but also took a trip to Crate and Barrel and Williams Sonoma to see things in person – which was really helpful.
3. Hit All The Price Points. Under $50, under $75, under $100, and beyond. That way all of your guests can choose what they want to spend. One thing I realized is sometimes people will go in on the higher priced items together!
Our wedding bands are here!! Thank you Nicole Rose Jewelry for guiding us through this entire process, we’re SO happy with how they turned out. I made a little video of the process of us picking them out on my Instagram:
Conner’s Ring: classic comfort fit in yellow gold, 4mm wide
My Band: classic shared prong eternity band with brilliant round cut diamonds
My Engagement Ring: platinum mounting, diamonds 3/4 around the band, low profile basket with eagle claw thin prongs ~ I did a more detailed post about my ring and how Conner proposed right here!
Finally revealing my childhood bedroom re-design!! This time last year, Conner and I packed our bags for what we thought would be a weekend visit back home to my parents’ house in Indiana. Quite the plot twist when our 3 day visit turned out to be a one year hiatus 😅
I love everything about my parents house. They’ve poured their hearts into making it the coziest and most inviting place to be. But… my childhood bedroom remained an untouched relic from my high school days, and those lime green walls had to go. This room went through allll the phases, but in most recent years it just became a hodgepodge of all my Chicago/NYC furniture as you can see:
BEFORE…
I partnered with Kathy Kuo Home, one of my favorite interior design companies, to do a complete makeover of my childhood bedroom. KKH has an incredible collection of classic yet design-forward furniture and decor on KathyKuoHome.com and I had so much fun working with their talented design team to transform this space!
This is a room I’ve spent a lot of time in, and will be a room that Conner and I stay in every time we visit my parents. I wanted it to feel comfortable, inspiring, and like a home away from home for us. My vision was for it to have a modern yet classic vibe with a sophisticated feel. My parents have a modern, Greek-inspired aesthetic going on throughout their house, so I wanted to tie that style into this room that will be their new guest room.
One of my favorite aspects of the entire process was when my designer, Raleene, revealed the two mock-up designs for me to choose from. She pulled my ideas together so perfectly and brought my vision to life better than I could have imagined. I ended up choosing Design A with a few accents from Design B. I absolutely love the final result. The combination of modern and ornate pieces blend together perfectly in this space to create the classic yet contemporary feel I was going for. I’ve linked everything in the room at the end of this post and have a my discount code for you to shop!
TH REVEAL:
I loved finishing up the room with personal design touches to complete the room. That’s always my favorite part of decorating. I left little pieces in the room that have special significance in my life for nostalgic purposes. My wooden ‘Olivia’ stool, a glass heart from my grandma, favorite photos with my family, special books, etc.
I love every piece we picked out, but two of my favorites are: the white slipcovered swivel glider and the Minted figure drawing art pieces framed in gold. The swivel is the most comfortable rocker chair you’ll ever sit in and the fabric is beautiful! The set of art framed in gold hanging above the desk is my favorite art I’ve ever owned. It would truly look amazing in any room.
I’ve been spending so much time in this room because it’s also where I work from home during the day. I can’t tell you how much I love this desk and coordinating desk chair with gold hardware. The space feels peaceful, organized, and inspiring ~ all important aspects of an effective home office! Just add a relaxing WFH playlist on Spotify and I’m in my element.

They also created this dedicated page on their site with my furniture and more.
Anything not linked I either found in my mom’s house or at Home Goods! This ‘SHOP THE LOOK‘ page includes everything in my room in addition to other pieces that match my aesthetic.
Moving from New York City to Indiana has been quite the change of pace. Getting to spend all of this extra time with my family has been such an unexpected blessing and I love how close my parents have been able to get with Conner. Although most of our lives have been packed away in storage for almost a year now, having a space that felt like our own has been a game changer. There’s just something about an organized, peaceful environment that helps you feel more relaxed, comfortable, and like yourself. It can be as simple as adding plants, changing the paint color, or decluttering. Or if you’re looking for a bigger project to help spark some creativity, KKH’s design services are the perfect way to get started!
