One of my best friends gave me this idea the other night for a post. She’s an auditor and works long days and sometimes goes straight from work to dinner, so she recommended I blog about how to easily transition a daytime outfit into a night time outfit. I thought it was also a good idea for anyone packing for a trip because it’s a good way to keep your bag kind of light and re-wear things while traveling. For those of you who are able to wear ‘casual fashion’ to work but want an easy transition for happy hour or dinner without having to put too much time into changing – this is for you!
The Day-time Look
Any time I can manage to avoid wearing jeans I do – so these BP leggings are one of my favorite things to wear with long sweaters/cardigans (available in 2 other colors, wearing xxs). I’m wearing a simple turtleneck top with my BlankNYC leather jacket (the best leather jacket of all time if you’re looking for a leather jacket that is more tailored and feminine looking, and not so grungy biker-chick) and for the shoes I chose these Akira booties – great with pants or skirts. For the transition to night time..
I swapped out pants for a stretchy black mini skirt with sheer black hose. I always get mine at the drugstore – one of my many lessons from Nani, haha. I kept the same sweater, leather jacket, and booties on and just changed out my bucket bag for a cross body because I hate bringing a big bag out with me at night. You can always spice it up with some statement jewelry too, but I chose to keep these Urban Outfitters hoops on because they can go either way. This outfit transition is so easy you could literally pack the skirt and hose in your purse to transition it!
