Leather is a major fall and winter accessory. But, for someone like me whose style is feminine & classic, it can be a tricky material to style.  I put together a few ideas for how I’ll be wearing my leather pieces this season to maintain my girly style while adding a little bit of an edge.

Leather Skirt (wearing 0 Petite) | Lace Floral Top (xs) | Rebecca Minkoff Heels (fave) | Crossbody Bag

1. Pairing leather with floral

I styled this leather mini skirt with statement buckles with a sheer floral top for some contrast. I love the high-waisted fit & the petite sizing option for the skirt. Although the skirt is pretty edgy, the dainty top makes the outfit more my style. I paired this look with my favorite pair of Rebecca Minkoff heels & suede cross body.

2. Leather ruffles

Flirty ruffles on a leather dress or skirt give it a chic flare. An A-line cut, a pair of black heels, and a simple clutch can would make this look the perfect outfit for a night out in the city.  I’m bringing this one along with me to fashion week this weekend! Other ruffled leather options :

3. Tight leggings with strappy heels

I found these at Topshop a few weeks ago and bought them early because I remember not being able to find a good pair last winter. I’ll be wearing these all winter paired with a pair of feminine heels and a cropped sweater. I love the high-waisted cut and stretchy fabric.

4. A Fitted Leather Jacket

The key to avoiding the boxy biker chick look is finding a tailored leather jacket. Last year, I found this Blank NYC jacket that’s tailored and constructed with detailed seaming. The slim, feminine cut complements your curves. Wear it draped over your shoulders for a more dainty look.

What are your favorite ways to incorporate leather? Do you have a favorite leather item that’s remained a staple through the years?

I am OBSESSED with this look! I don’t think I would have thought to style floral with a mini leather skirt, so thank you for sharing! It looks awesome.
