In ADVICE + THOUGHTS

I’m currently skyping Chris on the exact opposite end of the country while writing this post about all the cute holiday/winter dates we WOULD BE going on if we weren’t thousands of miles apart (insert crying emoji). This is my favorite time of year for a lot of reasons, but especially because of all the festive activities you can do to celebrate the season – I’m such a sucker for that kind of stuff. The 12 date ideas of Christmas:

1- Christmas Light Tour: put on PJ’s, stop by Starbucks for holiday drinks to-go, and drive through the best-lit neighborhoods in your town for a free show. My family used to do this when I was little, and years later it’s still one of my favorite traditions! 54ebe081305a8_-_xmas11

2- Christmas Movie Marathon: Cozy up by the fire and watch back-to-back Christmas classics. My favorites: The Holiday, The Grinch, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer the original (I watch this one every year!).  3f463542fbb7ab846bd40ca22bf15ad9

3- Make a Gingerbread House: Get creative together and decorate a gingerbread house with your favorite candy. (Sour patch watermelon and Reese’s peanut butter cup Gingerbread house?) ba36a230e764c0ae29d260170af0c0d8

4- Go Ice Skating: Chris and I did this in SLC a couple weeks ago and it was the cutest date! 5e4d92dbb4becb0aafd60aed8cceeddc

5- Go to the Christmas Tree Farm: If you’ve already put up your big tree this year, have him take you to the Christmas tree farm to find a cute little one to decorate for your room. 51bccacfd9127e5fd90008bb._w.540_s.fit_

6- Get the full holiday shopping experience by going to the mall together and enjoying the Christmas atmosphere (decor, gift shopping, holiday treats, etc.).

7- Dinner + A Show: Get tickets to see the Nutcracker (or another holiday performance) and do dinner/drinks after. fd6b99a232f1ec85f85ea6293bb27e68

8- Go sledding.

10- Holiday Baking: bake & decorate Christmas cookies – one of my favorites! c598f323c65838e8b2cee232910754cd

11- Volunteer Together

12- Host a classy 1950’s Christmas cocktail party together: this is totally on my to-do list. These adorable vintage Christmas greeting cards/advertisements from Christmases past have me wanting to throw a party with festive recipes, mulled wine, and Frank Sinatra’s Christmas album playing! 631cb9761b63296d44e7e14bef260b1b

I have the easiest Mulled wine recipe if you’d like it! Made it for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit.

This is super random but there’s a store called Honey in our mall and every time I go in it I think wow that looks like something Olivia rink would wear! And then when you posted holiday dresses I figured why not comment and tell you about it! Check it out 🙂 http://www.shophoney.com
