When I was going to school in Kentucky I lived right down the street from the classiest southern boutique in the city, Bella Rose. It was definitely the place you looked for special occasions – not necessarily the place to shop for frat parties or Tin Roof on the weekends (haha), but their designer collection is the epitome of southern belle fashion. When it comes to Kentucky Derby, Oaks, and Keeneland, this is a must-stop-shop for your dresses and headwear!
It’s that wonderful time of year when the grand stands are filled with big prints, bold colors, pastels, ruffles, and seersucker! I’ve put together a few of my favorites looks for the races:
Hats by HeadCandi
Look 1: Ya can’t go wrong a bold floral print and hot pink heels. I matched my lipstick to my shoes and paired this dress with a fun headpiece that complimented the navy and pink on the dress. And big curls are always the way to go! (Pink Heels)
Look 2: Nothing says spring like a blue and white sundress – and the neckline on this one is adorable! Since this dress and accessories are more muted, I picked a bold headpiece that pulled out the colors and added a pop of pink. (Suede Platform Heels / Quilted Handbag)
Look 3: Classic stripes are welcome at any southern event. This flattering number is comfortable and sophisticated. I paired this with strappy leather heels for a summery-vibe. (Similar Heels)
I hope this gives ya a little inspiration when putting your outfit together for the races! And if you’re in Lexington, you have to stop by Bella Rose and treat yourself to their gorgeous things : ) Time for a mint julep, Happy Sunday <3

Hello, great post! Is there any chance of buying the flowery dress online somewhere? I live in the UK and so it’d be hard to travel to the Bella Rose haha 🙂
