Hey guys! If you’re following along via Instagram, I’m sure you saw me over-gramming about my trip to Seattle last week. Washington was SO cool! Today I’m sharing details about what we did, where we ate, things we saw, and what I wore on the trip!

Chris’s sister-in-law’s parents (that may take you a second) live on an island a little bit north of Seattle called Camano Island, it’s only about 2 hours south of Canada.. so it’s waaay up there. We’ve been planning a trip to visit for a while now after hearing stories from Chris’s nieces & nephews of how awesome the Northwest is. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint – everything from their charming oceanfront home with giant hydrangeas to the beautiful skyline and fresh crab dinners was everything I imagined + more.

We spent the first few days exploring downtown Seattle. Our first stop was Pike Place Market – which pretty much had me sold me on this place after the first 5 minutes. It’s a huge farmers/crafts/specialty foods market in the heart of downtown that was overflowing with people, street performers, live music, wine, cheese, bread, huge fresh fish, fruits, veggies, cider, but my favorite part was the fresh flower section.. I about dieddd. The market overlooks Elliot Bay, so to add to all this we also had an incredible view of the shoreline while exploring.

We stopped for lunch at Ivar’s Fish Bar located right along the pier for some awesome fish, chips, and clam chowder. We shopped around downtown, took a quick detour into the grab a few items at the #NSALE, and grabbed a drink inside the first Starbucks EVER! Later we rode 605 ft up to the top of the Space Needle to get a beautiful view of the whole city. I definitely recommend doing this and yes, it’s totally worth the $20! There’s food & drinks once you get to the top to purchase while you enjoy the view!

A few great dinner spots: Umi Sake House had amazing sushi and a great candle lit atmosphere. My favorite dinner was at The Walrus and The Carpenter – it was the best seafood I’ve ever had – especially the oysters. And I loved the decor – it was very modern beach cottage-y.

We spent the next few days on Camano Island enjoying the beautiful view of the Puget Sound. We went boating, fishing, and crabbing..yes, crabbing. We actually caught our crab in a cage in the ocean and ate it later that night for dinner! Thanks to the amazing women in Chris’s family, we had delicious home cooked meals all week while staying on the island!

The last night we drove back down to Seattle to walk around the city and catch a Mariner’s game! We bought Seattle dogs (hot dogs topped with cream cheese + onions.. super healthy, haha) to get the full experience.

I loved every minute of our trip to the Northwest – it’s definitely a place to consider for your next vacation! Visit these posts to see what I wore on the trip:

Thanks for reading & happy hump day! Who’s been to Seattle before & what are your favorite spots/things to do?? And who else packs like they’re leaving the country for a 1 week trip? lol.. got the ‘heavy’ tag again
