If I could live last weekend over again, I would do it in a heartbeat. Brooke and Matt’s wedding was a complete dream! Matt came all the way from England on a soccer scholarship for the University of Kentucky, and that is where he met Brooke, his little southern belle. Everything played out exactly the way she imagined. We laughed, we cried, and we drank champagne as we watched this beautiful couple say ‘I do’. My first maid of honor experience was a success! Here is a re-cap of the weekend:

(professional photography version of the weekend, read this next)

On Thursday night, Chris and I took a red eye flight in to Louisville from SLC. Andrew, one of my best friends from college, picked us up in the morning and took us to a cute brunch spot downtown. We made a quick stop to stock up on gas, sour patch kids, and Starbucks before starting our mini road trip to Paducah, Kentucky.

Right when we arrived in Paducah, we had to hurry and get ready for the rehearsal dinner with the bridal party. It was so good to finally have all the girls back together!

Our boyfriends did a great job of entertaining themselves while we were busy doing wedding things…

I was pleasantly surprised with how quaint and charming Paducah was! We had a great dinner downtown at an outdoor patio streamed with lights and a live band. We mingled there for a while where I had the chance to meet Matt’s family who traveled all the way from England for the wedding! Their accents were killing me!
After dinner, Brooke surprised the bridal party with the cutest Bed & Breakfast I’ve ever seen called ‘The 1857‘. It was right next door to where the dinner was, so we walked straight up to our rooms. The exposed brick walls, cozy bedrooms, antique decor, and original hard-wood floors were the perfect setting for the wedding party to prepare for the next day’s festivities. The girls had the bottom floor and the boys had the top floor. And the boys took over the hot tub..

We woke up the next morning bright and early to start preparing for Brooke’s big day. Fresh fruit, coffee, Trix cereal, and raisin bread toast.. my kinda morning!

..And then we walked outside to see the mess the boys left in the hot tub from the night before…
Brooke laid out our bridesmaid gifts and had our ‘getting ready’ robes hung up for us when we woke up. They were the perfect shade of pink! Our gifts were Kate Spade Bow Rings with a note that said ‘thank you for helping me tie the knot’. So perfect!

And then, the hours of make up, hair, and mimosas began..

I knew Brooke was getting a little stressed about the weather (the forecast said it was going to rain all afternoon, so she made the decision to bring the wedding inside) and the anticipation for the evening was building, so I took a minute to write her a little note to calm her nerves and remind her that within a few hours she would be married to the love of her life!
Brooke got ready in one of the master bedrooms of the b&b. Her dress was absolutely incredible and her veil added the perfect touch. We played love songs while she got ready and watched as the photographers took the most stunning pictures of her. We all couldn’t wait for Matt to see her, we knew he was going to lose it!

Brooke & Matt exchanged letters right before their first look.

The girls rolled up to the wedding in white carriage… I could definitely get used to this!
Everything from the flowers to the silk bows tied on the chairs were so lovely. The ceremony was beautiful and so were Matt & Brooke’s vows.

It was so good seeing so many old friends from college (that makes me feel so old to say). These southern gentleman really clean up well!

And I was lucky to have a pretty cute date myself..
Nothing better than being reunited with this girl… still laughing at these pictures of us yelling at the boys. And if you’re wondering, neither of us caught the bouquet so ya… #alwaysthebridesmaids

The rest of the night was a blast. I survived my maid of honor speech, Chris caught the garter (see pic below lolol) and we danced all night. They definitely know how to do weddings in the south! Cheers to a perfect weekend celebrating the love of Mr. & Mrs. Lodge!
