I had a million things planned to do this afternoon on my day off, but I think someone up there ^ had a different idea in mind of how my Tuesday was going to go. It’s been almost a week since I took time to sit and talk to the man upstairs & express my gratitude for everything He’s been doing in my life lately. It’s amazing how caught up we can get in our to-do lists and errands that we forget to take time for ‘quiet time’ with Him.
I had a feeling I needed to sit down and read a few verses and look through my ‘Take My Heart, Oh God’ daily devotional this morning. Since I’ve read through it quite a few times, I usually just open up to a random page and ponder what it has to say. Today I opened up to a page about dealing with failure and disappointment, and it really hit home. I spent the next few hours reading through several verses on this topic and searching through some of my favorite spiritual blogs about what others had to say about it.
After sitting and thinking for a while about all the things I’m struggling with lately and the constant pressure of never measuring up to what I wish I could be right now, I had a feeling in my heart that I should write about it on here, to possibly reach other girls out there going through similar situations. The page I read today said this:
“We must believe that God permits failure – that a loving God permits hard things; because the hard things bring the greatest victories, the greatest lessons, and the most lasting changes”
Is that not the truth? My life’s most difficult moments are the times that have transformed me into a more loving, understanding, and stronger woman. It is only through experiencing life’s failures and disappointments that our characters are transformed, our faith is strengthened, and we learn to look at those moments as opportunities to grow in Christ. Whatever you may be dealing with today, this week, or this year, remember that God is using the situation to strengthen you and deepen your understanding of His love.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12:9)

Thanks Olivia, I can't remember if I told you this in another spiritual post, but I am really glad there are girls like you who I can look up to in so many ways. I cheered at Morehead for two years 2007-2009 and always looked up to you when you when I saw you at stunt fest Daytona 2010 I think, and wondered what it would be like to be a UK CHEERLEADER? So cool to see how close of a relationship you have with Heavenly Father and he will for sure use you to teach and reach other girls out there also struggling;)
