I spent last week with five of my close girlfriends sailing from Tampa to Mexico and back for a bachelorette party. It was my first time on a cruise, so I had no idea what to expect, but if you like unlimited filet mignon, pina coladas, and absolutely perfect weather, then I’d definitely recommend booking a trip! We cruised on Royal Caribbean’s ‘Brilliance of the Seas‘ ship. Here’s a little re-cap of the vacation with my girls:
On Day One // We boarded the ship around noon, so we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing, catching up, and making friends with the bartenders. We lounged by the pool and enjoyed live entertainment including a ‘sexiest man alive contest’ and music from a jazz band.
That night we had dinner in the beautiful dining room where we were wined & dined by our awesome waiters for the week, Ni Wayan & Clifton. You would be amazed with how much better dinner conversations are with no wifi on a boat in the middle of the ocean!
Day Two // was our first full day on the ship. We started the morning off right with mimosas and eggs benedict. The bride gave each bridesmaid a monogrammed beach hat as a gift for the trip, how cute are they!?
That night we dressed in black while Brooke wore a classy white tea length dress for dinner. We watched a cute video recording Emily put together of Matt (Brooke’s fiance) answering questions about her. We loved seeing Brooke’s answers match up with his. We sang Shania Twain karaoke and danced our hearts out on the cruise dance floor for the rest of the night.
Linds and I have figured out over the years that being 4’10” and under 100 lbs means sometimes you have to get creative with your wardrobe.. which is why I am rockin a Hollister dress while she’s wearing a two piece from Abercrombie and Fitch.. short. girl. probz.
[This dress was so popular it sold out, but this one and this one are other prints still available.]
We spent the second to last day docked in Cozumel, Mexico on a beautiful beach called Playa Mia. We put life jackets on and swam out to a water aerobics course [one of the funniest experiences of my life, I can’t believe we made it back with no broken bones!] We had to squeeze in a quick stop at Senor Frogs before boarding the ship.
We got back on the boat, cleaned up, and got ready just in time to have a quick dinner before our CATS played. Still a sore subject for all of us but it was awesome to see the crowd of Kentucky fans gathered to support our boys at the bar!
Our last day in the sun also happened to be my 24th birthday! I had so much fun I almost forgot I was a year away from 25…scary. But here’s to a weekend of friends, beautiful weather, and the celebration of a special friend getting married to the love of her life! Thanks for reading xoxoxo!
Wow! Whoever came up with that idea was a genius! Cruising is the absolute best and it looks like you all had a fabulous time! Oh, to be 24 again!
Beautiful pictures! What a great bachelorette party idea, it looks like you had a lot of fun!

Thank you so much for sharing this experience! I will be doing a bachelorette party on a Royal Caribbean cruise in 6 months and I have a question for you! Did you run into any issues with dress code for dinner ever? This will be my first cruise and I keep hearing that dinners are "formal", but you ladies look (aside from lovely) not overly formal. Thanks so much, Cheers!
Hi Erika!
Dinner wear could be anything from a romper to a floor length dress, people wear so many different things! I'd suggest sun dresses and maybe one 'formal' dress! Have so much fun, we loved it!
Hi! WHere did you get those hats? THey're amazing and i would love to get them for my best friend's bachelorette weekend!
The bride got them at walmart and then had them monogrammed!
Hi, I am actually taking 3 days Royal Carribean Ship for my bachelorette party. Would you consider the party life great on the ship? I know Carnival is known as the Party Ships. Was their a younger crowd? Thank you!
Thanks for posting this guide!
