In TRAVEL

This past weekend I traveled across the country from Salt Lake City to a little gem on Florida’s west coast called Siesta Key. My cousins own a beautiful condo in Siesta, so we’re pretty familiar with the area from visiting over the years. This time they were nice enough to let us borrow it for the entire week! It’s known for having some of the most beautiful beaches in the country – soft white sand, turquoise water, and long stretches of land for sand dollar collecting and people watching! It was the perfect location for a much needed girls weekend with my mom & sister. This little beach town is full of charming pastel colored shops, quaint breakfast & lunch spots, breath taking views and delicious seafood.
And can we talk about our sweet view…

Day One //
We woke up bright & early to dine at our favorite little french cafe [Bonjour French Cafe]. This place totally had me at the outdoor patio seating and delicious croissants.. not to mention the waiters & waitresses served us with warm and welcoming authentic french accents. We spent the meal talking about how we’d someday take a girls trip to Paris as we stuffed our faces with fresh fruit, crepes, and fresh squeezed orange juice.

After breakfast it was time to hit the beach and do what girls do best, catch some rays. Thanks to my spray tan from [palm beach tan], my skin looked beach ready on the first day! Now that I’m at the age where apparently you have to start worrying about wrinkles and sun damage (sad), I was all about SPF 30 Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen. I retired the tanning oil I used to worship and tanned the healthy way this trip 🙂 I know some sunscreens can strip your spray tan, but this one for the most part didn’t mess with my color.

I found this suit at H&M right before I left for my trip. I don’t usually do neons, but this fun neckline was hard to say no to. It’s also available in green and charcoal grey, find the top & bottoms here online! (Only $40)

Our first night we showered and got ready in time to watch the sun set before heading out for dinner. This is the first of many ‘selfie-stick’ pictures you’re going to see. My beautiful and free-spirited nineteen year old sister introduced me to this crazy stick and said we needed it this week because “mom can’t take an iPhone picture to save her life”. Which is true (sorry mom).. but we are still trying to figure out how she managed to take bursts of ‘143’ pictures every time we handed her the phone. (Apologizing in advance for some of these pics, we got carried away lol.

You guys will never guess where this cute two-piece set is from.. KOHL’S! And it was only $20 for the set (top here / skirt here). I am all about a cute & cheap find – below you can shop my entire look from this picture!

[Above] Elena said this was her ‘tutorial’ on how to get long healthy hair: take hair, place on head… lol that works.

Dinner the first night was spend at ‘The Cottage‘, a cute tiki-hut-looking looking spot tucked away in the middle of the village. The seafood was great and the atmosphere was perfect.

Day Two //
We started the day with a walk on the beach. I could definitely get used to living in the a place like this. Remind me again why I continue to choose to live in cold weather.. Indiana.. Utah..??

Nailed the whole selfie stick thing obviously…

There we go..

The bikini I’m wearing is one of Victoria Secret’s styles from last year, but I’ve included a few of my favorite suits from this year’s catalog below.. and I want ALL of them:

Lunch was spent at our favorite spot in the village, The Sun Garden Cafe. I could order anything on the menu here and lick the plate clean.. it’s that good. The rest of the day was spent stopping in the local beach shops and eating snow cones. In other news, a gecko ran underneath my sandal when I was walking and I stepped on it and killed it. Cried for about 5 min.

This cute ruffled romper is the most comfortable beach cover-up, I wore it the whole trip!

That night we ventured out on the town again and stopped at Salvatores, the best Italian in the village. I loved the mix of eclectic and Victorian-style interior design along with the relaxing atmosphere – perfect for enjoying some vino with the girls 🙂 And the only way to make blog shoots enjoyable was to take a few stupid selfies to keep ourselves laughing.

Our last day was spent exploring town in the morning, beaching for a bit, and shopping in the evening. Apparently I missed the memo about it being “wear your Triangl bikini to the beach” day, but I was about 1 out of 15 girls wearing the same suit. Whatever, they’re cute. (Here’s mine)

Made a stop at the Kate Spade store of course..

Spent our last night watching the CATS win [again] and eating some crab legs with a live band playing! THIS is the life 🙂

I don't use any boosters except sometimes one 'mocha' bronzer. I always get the light colored spray unless I wanna be really dark (like this vacay) I did the dark!
