THANK YOU GUYS for making me feel so loved today!!! All the comments, messages, emails, and texts made my week 🙂 It’s not happy people who are thankful, but thankful people who are happy so to celebrate 27 years of life, here are
27 Things I’m Thankful For
1. Waking up today
Every morning, the first thing I do when I open my eyes is thank God for another day & start counting my blessings. (The secret to starting every day off right).
2. My health
Watching loved ones deal with chronic pain & discomfort has shown me how much of a blessing this truly is.
3. Warmer weather coming
(Ignoring the fact that it snowed in April yesterday)
4. My relationship with my momÂ
I used to take this relationship for granted until I realized it’s not something every mother and daughter have. My mom is my best friend in the world.
5. My dad
I’ve learned so much from him and have always admired his ability to never take himself too seriously and make anyone laugh. My parents have given me the best example that parents could give.
5. My best friends
You guys are my support system and (free) therapists.
6. Conner
Long distance is hard, but he makes every single day better. Thank you for loving me on my good days and even more on my bad days. I love learning and growing together every day.
7. My Nani
She is such a little ray of sunshine in my life.
9. Our apartment
I love our cozy apartment in Chicago (see it here!)
10. My Job
I’m so thankful that I’m able to do what I love. I feel so grateful that I have something I love waking up to & working on every day.
11. Social Influence
There are few things more rewarding than getting to connect with you guys and knowing I can have a positive influence on your lives. Every single positive message makes my day – even if I don’t always have time to respond. You guys make me love what I do.
12. Living in Chicago
My favorite city in the world! this post has all my favorite things to do here.
13. Street Parking
(I’m serious). Those of you who live in big cities have to agree – there are few things better than being able to park in a convenient spot near your front door. Especially in FREEZING chi town.
14. Pain and disappointments
If it taught me what I needed to know and changed me into the person I’m supposed to be, it served it’s purpose.
15. My tiny office
My happy place.
16. Southland Christian Church Podcasts
If you haven’t started listening to them yet, PLEASE do. I try to listen to one of these every day while I’m on the treadmill, driving in my car, or before bed.
17. Facetime!
Seriously one of my favorite ways to keep in touch with friends (and my boyfriend!) who I don’t get to see every day.
18. My siblings
Austin, Evan, and Elena – I love you! I’ve loved growing up with 3 siblings.
19. Walgreens
Nani says Walgreens is the best store there is, and I’m with her on that one. Everything you could ever need…
20. My cheerleading background
Being a collegiate cheerleader taught me so many valuable lessons that shaped the course of my future. I am so beyond thankful for my experience at Kentucky (go cats!).
21. I’m thankful for all of YOU guys!
For following along with my adventures, blog, Instagram, and giving me the motivation to continue to blog!
22. CoffeeÂ
To start my day..
23. And red wine
To end it 🙂
24. Petite-friendly clothing lines
Topshop, ASOS petites, Aritzia, H&M. Thx for making my life easier!
25. My roommates
Rachel, Elena, and Ford make every single day better.
26. For all my travel experiences
27. Love
It gives this life meaning. God’s love, friends love, romantic love!
Thank you for reading!!!
I am so happy to hear you say you no longer take your relationship with your mom for granted. As someone who is just now (at 20) beginning to have a positive relationship with my mom it means a lot for girls to acknowledge that not everyone has a good relationship with their mom. Now I can say my mom is my best friend but growing up it wasn’t always the case. We still have a long way to go but growing up has definitely improved our relationship 100%, so thank you for being one of the only people to publicly acknowledge it. I am so happy you have an amazing relationship with your mom and I can’t wait to be able to say the same, we’re almost there!
Happy birthday girl!! Just want you to know that I love following your blog! I love that you share your faith and post about real life things! You’re so relatable (I also cheered in college at the University of Arkansas, probably around the same time that you cheered!) and cherish my relationships with people just as you do. Love the quote to count your rainbows, not your thunderstorms! Hope you’ve had a great day! 🙂
Happy birthday beautiful girl! I love that you listed all of these wonderful things that you are thankful for. You continue to inspire every day! <3
Lots of love,
Rachel
