So originally this post was just going to just be about this pretty pink dress I borrowed from my cute little photographer friend in my all time favorite building in Salt Lake City (the capital building – ceiling to floor marble!), but the pastel pink made me think of Spring, and well, that’s still pretty far away. So, if you’re cold, pale, sick of the dark mornings, and your skin has just about had it with the cold temps, here’s a list of unique thing to distract yo from the gloomy weather:
- Buy fresh, colorful flowers (Costco has the best bouquets) and spread them throughout your home/apartment. They brighten up a room and bring life to a space (and distract from the snow & dead trees outside your window).
- Redecorate a room! It might be too early to pull out your warm weather dresses, but this is the perfect time to start refreshing your favorite spaces in your home. (I just finished this one!).
- Take a quick weekend trip to do something for yourself. It doesn’t have to be a plane flight away, it could be a quick road trip with girl friends to go antique shopping, to a cute bed & breakfast, or a shopping weekend getaway.
- Join a book club! A few of my friends are in book clubs right now and they love it! Whether it’s with a group of girls you already know, or a brand new bunch, this is a great way to get out & stay active during the week – and meet new girl friends!
- Wear pastels! Instead of browns and blacks, pair a pastel blue sweater with fur accessories or try wearing white outerwear instead of the typical dark winter fabrics.
- Pre-Spring cleaning: Take a day to sort through your winter clothes and get rid of the things you never wore this season. It will de-clutter your closet and also make space for new Spring things!
Hope you’re loving your Sunday night! If you haven’t checked recently, I updated a few things in my SHOP tab at the top of my website this week and here’s the lip combination from my Instagram pic today! Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you all so much!
