How does a free personal shopper sound? How about a free personal shopper that handpicks a perfectly packaged trunk full of shoes, bags, accessories and clothing in your size and style, and ships it to your door for a total of ZERO dollars? Interested? Then let me fill you in on a little secret called Trunk Club Women – a women’s styling service I had the pleasure of trying out last week.

How it works: you get set up with your own personal stylist at Trunk Club who’s main mission is to make you look good (my stylist is Kelsey Lyons, she is fabulous). She’ll set up a call to talk about your style preferences, sizing info, wardrobe needs, and other questions like:

Next: She’ll put together a trunk full of items based on your answers (10-15 items). Make sure to go in to detail about the type of fit you like when it comes to dresses, pants, tops, etc., and let her know your favorite assets and your not so favorite assets (like your booty? let her know!) Your stylist will send you a virtual ‘trunk preview‘ via email with photos + pricing where you can give feedback/swap things out before it ships (loved this part).

Then: Before you know it, a trunk shows up at your doorstep and it feels a lot like Christmas morning. Let me just tell you that I am one of the hardest people to shop for. Not only am I very picky, but I’m also about the size of a 13 year old and NOTHING ever fits the way it should. I don’t know what kind of magic Kelsey performed to fill a whole trunk filled with things in my size that I loved, but I was VERY pleased. Here’s a look at what was inside my first trunk:

Once you’re ready to return the trunk: You get 10 days to try everything on and decide what you love and want to keep and anything that doesn’t work you just send back! So, to clarify, the way this works is that the luxury of your own personal stylist service is completely free – no monthly membership fees or service fees OR shipping fees – the only thing you pay for are the items you decide to keep. You e-mail your stylist and schedule a pick up to take the Trunk right back where it came from. You don’t even even have to leave your home to drop off at the post office/UPS!
