After a week of meeting some of the greatest girls, eating at delicious restaurants, shopping in the heart of downtown, and attending some fabulous events.. I think I’m pretty much sold on this place! Here’s a little re-cap of my busy week in the windy city..
I drove to the city from Granger, IN early Tuesday morning after a typical Midwest thunderstorm to do a little shopping and explore Michigan Avenue. I’m probably weird, but shopping alone is one of my favorite things to do. It gives me time to think and get a little retail therapy in while finishing up a few outfits I’m styling. Big shoutout to Uber and google maps this weekend.. couldn’t have done it without ya.
Pretty convenient I managed to find a parking spot right next to the Kate Spade store inside Bloomingdales. I found a few great desk accessories and a new agenda – I’ll post which one next week!
To all my petite girls that love Anthropologie but hate that they don’t carry any of their ‘petite sizes’ in the store – downtown Chi has an entire section on the bottom floor dedicated to petites, I was in heaven! I can’t wait to show you guys the dress I found there for my trip to Seattle.
My former Kentucky dance team girls welcomed me into their awesome apartment in Bucktown for the week. It looks like something straight out of SATC!
The next morning started extra early with brunch, braids, and a launch party for Blohaute – a beauty service (and app) that comes straight to your house to braid, blowout, or style your hair! Download it in the app store & thank me later! I wore a simple grey top shop dress to the event with my favorite nude steve madden heels.
Later that day I grabbed drinks with one of my new girlfriends (and awesome blogger) Jenn at the J Parker on top of the Lincoln Hotel. The view was incredible!
We celebrated Bastille Day at a dinner hosted by TheEverygirl.com and Maison Jules at the cutest french bistro, Mon Ami Gabi. Lindsey (who I went to UK with and stayed with over the weekend) was my cute date for the evening! It was so good to catch up, drink some rose, and meet an awesome group of Chicago gals.

We spent Wednesday eating tacos at Big Star in Wicker Park, looking through the biggest Walgreens I’ve ever seen inside an old bank, and raiding the Home Goods in Bucktown to find things to decorating Lindsey’s apartment with. Easily one of the best trips to Chicago in a long time & I can’t wait to be here more often! Thanks for reading & let me know of any other places I need to see/visit next time I’m in town 🙂 xo, liv

Love love love the purple lace dress!! But I always have difficulty with Topshop sizing. What size are you wearing?
I'm wearing a petite XS! This fit me perfectly, but I tried on the size 0 shorts (and most places I'm a 00) and they were SO SMALL. I couldn't move lol. Sizing is tough with them.
I bought it in coral, and love it!!! Yet another great item I have purchased since following your blog!
