In ADVICE + THOUGHTS

I spent all night attempting to get my inbox down from 557 emails to zero, and I wanted SO BADLY to respond to every single one of you. But there just aren’t enough hours in the day. So, for those of you who took the time out of your busy schedules to write me a note or ask me a question – I just wanted to say thank you so much for making me feel so loved. I have some of the coolest, sweetest, most hard working girls reading my blog. I want to help out in any way I can whether it’s career or personal advice, so I’m working on figuring out a system to be better at responding to you guys. But in the meantime, keep following up with me if I haven’t responded yet – that’s the best way to catch me 🙂

I thought it would be different to do a post like this so I don’t just seem like another random person you follow on the internet. Hoping this helps you get to know me a little more personally. If you read something you said ‘omg me too’ about, leave a comment about how you came across my blog & introduce yourself!

I wish I knew how to ______.

Relax. I’m type A, OCD, and need to just learn to chill out sometimes. Oh, and speak Spanish.

Do not take one single moment of your life for granted. Every moment is precious, live your life accordingly.

Last thing you splurged on?

A flight. Memories and experiences are priceless.

A Michele watch I can wear every day. I’m looking at this gem.

Wake up and walk the 606 running track in my neighborhood and people watch. Grab coffee and donuts at Stan’s Donuts in Wicker Park. Window shop on Oak Street & Michigan Ave. alone with an iced tea from David’s Tea. Grab a cocktail on top of Cindy’s Rooftop with girlfriends and enjoy the view of the city. Sit out on my back patio in Bucktown with my roommates. Take the risk it’s worth it, dump him if he’s not the one, be more confident in yourself, and start thinking about what you want to do after college the second you begin your freshman year. And pass on that Panama City trip.

What do you miss?

Waking up in the morning when I was living with Nani, my grandma. Coming downstairs and having breakfast and coffee together every morning was like a dream. I wish we could’ve done that every day for the rest of our lives!

Nike

Coolest celebrity moment?

Advice for someone dealing with heartbreak?

CS Lewis said it best, “Being in love is a good thing, but it is not the best thing. There are many things below it, but there are also things above it. You cannot make it the basis of a whole life. It is a noble feeling, but it is still a feeling. Feelings come and go.” He is not the only one for you. You will meet so many other compatible loves. Take this time to explore your life outside of a relationship & fall in love with your work, your friends, your family, your passions. Prepare your heart for your true love down the road.

Weird things about me:

I don’t sleep with a pillow and I like driving in the car in silence.

Somehow I came across your insta account a while back and was like “omg she’s my size” ha so I decided to follow. It’s nice to know where girls my size shop!! All of my friends are giants lol. I have a blog, but because I’m in marketing (for physical therapy) I don’t have the time to write/ brainstorm as much as I would like. So I live vicariously through your cute posts! Keep up the good work sista💗

I found your # on LHChicagp & decided to follow your blog, as I’m a chi town girl (born & raised), but now living in London w/my hubby & JRT.

I can really relate to ‘what you miss’. I miss mr grandma more everyday. I used to spend the wknds @ her home. I would wake up to breakfast being prepared & the cofffee percolator going.

I would give anything to see, spend those wknds again with her. Thx for allowing me to share my memory of a rock star woman!

I definitely relate to having the type A personality that can’t relax! I started following you on insta after meeting you at a Kentucky cheer clinic! I always watched what you did to prepare for 2014 tryouts. It’s an added bonus that im close to same size as you and can always turn to your blog to find a place to buy clothes.

I found your blog a little over a year ago through the Purdue cheer Instagram account. I cheered at Purdue (long ago – I graduated in 2009) and I started following you since you are an Indiana girl and a cheerleader too. I’ve stayed for the cute fashion, fun posts, and that hair! 😍 Haha! Cute post – I enjoyed reading it!

I’ve been following your blog for a while now. I am also a U.K. Grad and Kentuckian. I’ve loved watching you grow into this beautiful kind woman. I see your confidence growing and seeing that in other women is a rare sight these days. I share your style with my 18 year old and 13 year old daughters, your love of family touches my soul and I pray I have that with my girls. Best wishes and never ever give up your dreams!
