It’s here!! The Physicians Formula 80th Anniversary collection just launched today, and I’m partnering with them to share why I love it! I’ve always been a drugstore makeup girl and a big fan of Physicians Formula – it’s been around forever (80 YEARS, what!). They were actually the first makeup brand to introduce SPF , organic ingredients, hypoallergenic, and color correcting in makeup – the OG of cosmetics right here people. And speaking of OG’s, Nani has been using PF forever too – so that’s saying something!
The anniversary collection includes Le Velvet Foundation, Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls Highlighter, two eyeshadow quads, and hypoallergenic lipstick. All of the products are in line with the latest trends in makeup (highlighting, matte lips & face, two-toned eyes), and gives you the option to create a dramatic or soft look. See the full collection here.
I’m taking you through 4 steps that show you how to achieve a shimmery summer glow:
1. Right after I put a good amount of face lotion on, I apply a light layer of Le Velvet Foundation for a smooth, matte-ish look. Mixing this product in with your face lotion will help distribute it evenly (I always apply my foundation this way before the lotion is fully absorbed). The foundation is light and matches my skin, and smooths and conceals any imperfections – I’m using ‘Cream Ivory’. It’s waterproof and has SPF 15! I have a contouring routine I do after this that we’ll get into in my next makeup post.
2. Next, I use a small amount of the Mineral Glow Pearls Highlighter along the top of my cheekbone. I apply it with a brush and start on my cheekbone under the my eye and continue in a sweeping motion in an upward angle towards my ear. Tip: use a little bit of this along your brow bone and in the inside corner of your eyes. It’s the perfect hint of shimmer to add to your summer makeup routine.
3. The eye shadow quads are my fave! The gold shimmer color options are gorgeous. I use the gold champagne shimmer all over my lids (top right in quad) then apply a little bit of the dark brown (bottom right in quad) to the crease with the skinnier side of the applicator. For a more golden look, add some of the gold shimmer to your lids (bottom left in quad).
4. Finish look with lipstick. I have a million lipstick colors, but pretty much the only ones I wear are berry-colored. I LOVE the PF hypoallergenic lipstick in berry – that’s what I have on in this post. It’s the perfect transition color and can be darkened with a lip liner or lightened by blotting it after application with a tissue. It’s romantic and girly, I love it! (Available in Berry, Nude, Coral, and Red).
The collection is limited so get your hands on these products ASAP. Do you use any Physicians Formula products – which ones do you love? Leave any makeup questions in the comments below, I’m working on an every day makeup tutorial!
