I’ve always said I’m a drugstore makeup girl with only a few splurges in my makeup collection, so I haven’t had a lot of experience with luxury cosmetics. However, I recently had the chance to try the entire Hourglass Cosmetics collection and I was pleasantly surprised with how awesome my makeup has looked over the last few weeks of using their products. A lot of their cosmetics have made their way into my everyday makeup routine, so I wanted to share which ones I’ve been using & how I apply them…

Tutorial Steps:
Step 1
Veil Mineral Primer – The first step is the Veil Mineral Primer. I’ve never used a primer until this one and now I’m hooked. It creates a smooth, even canvas for makeup and conceals redness, minimizes the appearance of pores, wrinkles, and contains SPF 15. I love this product!
How to use: Use 1 pump and apply it to clean, moisturized skin. I work it over my entire face until the surface feels velvety and soft.
Step 2
Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick + Brush – This was my first time trying a foundation stick and I was really surprised with how even it make my skin look. I loved using the foundation brush to blend the color. I usually use a beauty blender, but this brush seemed to give my skin a more velvet-y and smooth appearance. I’m wearing shade: Ivory.
How to use: Dot 3 triangular dots in the center of both sides of the face (3 dots on the chin, 3 dots on the tops of the cheekbones and 3 dots on the forehead). Then, buff in with Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Brush in tiny circular motions.
Step 3
Veil Translucent Setting Powder – A loose and weightless powder designed to give skin a naturally flawless finish. Light-reflecting particles instantly blur imperfections and minimizes the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles.
How to use: After I’ve applied my primer and foundation, I use the Veil Powder Brush to spread the powder evenly on my face. The most important places to set are under your eyes and in your T-zone. Setting powder helps to prevent creasing and oiliness throughout the day.
Step 4
I highlighted and contoured my face as I usually do (post about this coming later!) by using sweeping motions along my cheekbone with darker powder and highlighting my T-zone with lighter powder.
Step 5
Graphik Eyeshadow Palette: This palette has all of my favorite shades – both matte and metallic! I’m using the Vista shade.
How to use: I applied the champagne color to my entire eyelid and then used a more precise brush to define the crease and blended the two colors together with my finger.
Step 6
Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush – This blush adds warmth & glow to your cheek bones. I’m using the shade: Iridescent Flash.
How to use: Swirl the entire blush tile with your brush to pick up the right balance of pigment and strobe lighting powder – apply to cheeks and blend upward towards the top of your ear. I do this along the same line that I contour along.
Step 7
I lined my top and bottom lid with black eyeliner + coated my lashes with mascara. (I’ll do a more detailed post about this step later on).
Step 8
Lip Stylo: I love this silky lipstick! It’s the perfect natural pink shade and keeps your lips feeling hydrated and soft. Sometimes I apply it with a little bit of a darker liner. Wearing shade: ‘Seeker’.

I LOOOOVE Hourglass! Couple things:
1. The NYX Angel Veil Primer is a drugstore dupe for their mineral veil. The consistencies are a bit different but the performance is the same.
2. I also love their Ambient Lighting Powders so much, I use the shade Dim Light to set my under eye concealer if I’m doing dewy face makeup and the shade Luminous Light is the perfect bridal highlighter.
3. I also love the stick foundation and their ambient lighting bronzers!
I’m going to have to try Hourglass now! You have amazing skin btw.
