In DECOR, DECOR & STYLING, inspiration

With my big move in mind next week, I’ve caught myself spending a few too many hours browsing through Pinterest and decor magazines for some interior inspiration. I’ve rounded up a list of my favorite chic trends happening right now in the design world. Spruce up your space with bold art, ornate wall decor, glamorous fabrics, chic furnishings, a few large scale florals and you’re apartment will be looking like something straight out of elle decor in no time.

1. lucite furniture
Clear furniture is an easy way to simplify and de-clutter a room. Acrylic pieces also creates the illusion of a larger space. Mix it with other materials & fabrics – these see through pieces are versatile and chic.

2. the color blush
Feminine, light, and romantic, this soft pastel adds a bit of elegance to any space. Incorporate a few blush accents here and there or deck the whole place out in this lovely pink hue.

3. statement wall paper
There’s nothing more fabulous than an entire wall (or all four) covered in a bold print or colorful pattern. Make the walls – or even the ceiling – the focal point of your room by covering them in an attention-grabbing print.

ornate mirrors

Consider an eye-catching ornate mirror as the statement piece above your bed, dresser, or console table. Or, if you really want to make a statement, lean a majestic mirror against the wall to add height, drama, and modern glamour.

velvet pieces

Create a glamorous vibe by incorporating velvet pieces into your space.  Matching pink velvet chairs & a plush velvet headboard are definitely at the top of my design wish list.

bold art
Make bold choices when it comes to selecting art for your home. It will determine the mood of the room and be a main topic of conversation, and it’s a fun way to show personality.

Center your room around one of these bold pieces:

Add the finishing touches – fresh flowers for no good reason & and a heavenly smelling candle – and you’ve got a place you’re happy to call home. Thanks for stopping by, hope this gave you some inspiration for that room you’ve been wanting to update 🙂
