Black Floral Maxi Dress (Size 0 – no alterations in bodice only length, Nordstrom)

I spend A LOT of time and money on alterations. I always do my best to find the best petite-fitting clothes for my petite readers (5’3″ and under), but a lot of the time the outfits I photograph in have undergone some sort of alterations.

In my opinion, the way your clothes fit is thee most important thing when it comes to looking put together. There are so many crazy outfits I’ve worn over the years that I was able to pull off mainly because I had them perfectly tailored to my frame. I swear, a custom fit works wonders!

I’m writing this post to hopefully make your life a little easier by introducing you to Nordstrom’s alterations services. Nordstrom will alter any item in your closet – regardless of if you purchased it there or not. Their experts are quick & professional. And if you’re a Nordy Club member, you get basic alterations done for free! You can book an appointment online, find your nearest store and call—or just ask your salesperson for details.

Floor length dresses are one of my favorite things to wear. But also not the most ideal piece of clothing for someone who’s 4’11″🙄. I can almost guarantee that every time I buy a floor length dress for a wedding or event that it’s going straight to the seamstress to get inches taken off (even in my highest heels). Thanks to Nordstrom’s alterations services – I had both of these dresses tailored perfectly to my body. When my clothes fit correctly I always feel so much more confident.

I feel like finding dresses to wear to winter weddings is so much harder than finding something to wear to spring/summer weddings, so I did some research for you and included some that I love in this post. Hope you find something you love!
