I tend to stick to some of the same exercises that I’ve done since my gymnastics/cheer days because they give me the best results, here’s my routine:
Cardio + Legs + Butt Workout
CARDIO ROUTINE:
I’m all about any kind of cardio exercise that doesn’t involve a lot of running. I’ve never been good at running and I don’t think I ever will, but I have found a way to make running a little less painful.Β Once you’re through the first 14 minutes of power walking, you’ll be prepared to do a little bit of jogging/sprinting. I aim to get this cardio routine in 3 times a week.
- 14 minute power walkΒ
- 2 minute jog
- 1 minute sprint
- 2 minute jog
- 1 minute sprint
**repeat once** = 40 minutes of cardio!

This next section is about my favorite butt + leg workouts that I find to be the most effective. I’ve included short clips to show you exactly how each exercise should be done – some of them will take a little bit of practice and muscle building to get used to!
5 BEST LEGS WORKOUTS:
- Jump change lunges (do 10 – right, left is 1)
- Side to Side Lunges with weight (do 10 – right, left is 1)
- Resistance Band Cross-overs (do 10 on each leg)
- One leg bench Squats (do 10 on each leg)
**repeat above leg exercises 2 times**
- Calf Rises on the stairs: 10 left leg, 10 right leg, 10 together (3 times).
5 BEST BUTT WORKOUTS:
- Dog kicks with Resistance Band (10 each leg)
- Glute Bridge Lifts (10 each leg)
- Sumo Squats with weights (10 total)
- Walking lunges with kick backs (10 each leg)
- Deadlifts with weights (10)
Thanks for reading and I hope you found a few new exercises to add to your routine!Β I figured this was a good time to post about exercising because right around/after Thanksgiving is when we could all use a little motivation π Tag your workout buddy in the instagram comments + in addition to working out, make sure you’re eating healthy and drinking lots of water!
How much weight do you use in your resistance band/dumbbells?
I either use 5 or 8 pound dumbbells and then the resistance band is ‘heavy’ resistance.
Could you do a post about what you eat on a normal day-to-day basis, please?Or maybe a post on how to eat healthy? Thanks!
Hi Sydney! I’ll definitely work on something like that for the future, but for now, here’s a post I did in the past on that topic: http://oliviarink.com/8-fit-tips-i-live-by/
Omg I love this post, the little pictures that move are so helpful and cute. How many reps do you do of each exercise?
xoxo
Thanks Nicci! I wrote above each post how many reps I do for each exercise π
Hi Olivia! I had a question. Do you do all of these different group exercises everyday or do you do one group of excercises for a day and another group for another day. For example like: arms one day, legs one day, etc.
Thanks!!! βΊοΈ
Hi Deanna! I usually mix it up! Some days I’ll do cardio, abs, and legs. Some days if I’m feeling motivated I’ll do it all! It really just depends on how much I’ve worked out that week and how long I want to be at the gym π
I just came across your blog and LOVE it!! This post is awesome – I love that you show us HOW to do the exercises. Thanks Olivia, I look forward to reading more!
Thanks so much Brittany! Whenever I look for workouts online I always want to see HOW it’s done.. because it’s impossible to explain some of these in just writing. Have a great week and thanks for reading π
Thank You for your information.
