I feel like it’s my duty as a petite fashion blogger to keep ya up to date on all the best options for where to shop for clothes if you’re short. I know I’ve clarified this before, but I just want to reiterate that although ‘petite’ does literally mean ‘small’, in the fashion world it refers to a size range of clothing that’s made to fit women who are 5’4″ and under. Petite is in reference to a woman’s height, not her weight. A petite woman can be a size 2 or a size 18. 5’4” and under is the industry standard to be considered petite for retailers.
A few years ago I stumbled across Petite Studio, a petite-friendly company based in New York City that was just getting started. I was intrigued because after working in the industry for several years at this point, it was very rare to come across a company that solely catered to petite women. Jenny Wang, the founder of Petite Studio, has a mission to design clothes on real petites to give the best fit. She understands that petites are all shaped differently, and need the same thought and care as normal-sized shoppers to look their best. She’s focused her attention on fostering a “small but mighty” community of women who will ultimately see the brand as their go-to retailer.
“One of the things we wanted to embrace with Petite Studio is the idea that if you are petite, you don’t have to pretend to be something else. There’s a lot of looks that petites can pull off better than other shoppers, and what we’re trying to do with the brand is to embrace being petite while really giving our petite shoppers pieces that make them shine. Whenever you have a great outfit on and it fits really well— dare I say perfectly —confidence and femininity just radiate out.” – JENNY WANG (an excerpt from this article)
Today I’m sharing one of my favorite two piece options from Petite Studio that fit like a glove in a size XXS Petite. Also, they’re offering 15% off your entire order for the next week, just use OliviaRink15 at checkout 🙂
